Did you know that:
- 1000s of young people are hired as probationary cabin crew and terminated for profit by Ryanair every year.
- recruits pay up to 3000 EURO for the training and most of them are laid off without sufficient grounds within a year.
- Ryanair cabin crew are measured on sales, not on performance. They are required to sell, not to be able to ensure your safety.
- unlike any other carrier, Ryanair pays cabin crew only for the flight time, not for the flight preparation time.
- Ryanair employees have to rent for their uniform for £25/month. They even pay for their water on board.
- Ryanair has no respect for employee rights. They fired an experienced pilot because he handed a union membership form to a stewardess.
- Ryanair uses their planes almost non stop, but has the lowest number of employees per airplane in the whole industry. They employ 33 people for each plane, half of the number employed by AirBerlin (64) and SouthWest Airlines (65).

Off she went to Dublin working as she thought for Ryanair on their aircraft...After a 7 week period Sarah was called into head office in Dublin with 20 others..They were all Terminated and the reason was The Recession..This was a very hard time for Sarah and she was alone in Dublin by this time and cryed for days..Ryanair refused to give her a flight back home to UK after Termination even though a free flight was given when Sarah started working at Ryanair..Sarah was told by a Ryanair supervisor,;;YOU DO NOT WORK FOR US ANYMORE,so no flight home....Sarah new she had been scammed.....
Sarah did not know how to explain what had happened to her to her parents.After 5 days she contacted her parents back in Liverpool.Her farther took a ferry to Dublin to pick her up with all her belongings and on the ferry back home Sarah said to her farther ''i think i have been scammed.''

I just prefer for them to be honest at the start. Then I found out that if you are based in UK you have to open a Barclays account and based in Europe you have to open an Irish bank account. My question is.... Why????
I didn't know about the Bank requirements. But this might be due to FR's recruitment being sorted by a company called St. James? Maybe.. Irish? That's strange.
I think this has to do with tax. Ryanair has been in trouble a few times over this, where they have crews based in different countries, and are not paying any of taxes for the crews. They then claim that the crews are employed in Ireland, so they so not have to pay taxes in the country where the crew is based. Honestly, I think the whole thing is dodgy... what if a crew member is let go... can they claim any benefits in their home country, if they have not been contributing there, as all of the contributions have been made in Ireland? I think the UK is different again.. probably because of the currency, and the fact that the operations are so big there.

"Ryanair, Hungary’s favourite airline, today (Fri 2nd Mar) announced that it would cancel 13 return flights to/from Budapest over the next two weeks (see below), as the Border Control Police at Budapest Airport insist that some Ryanair pilots and cabin crew get off the aircraft and clear through immigration on 25 minute turnarounds, despite the fact that these crews live and work in Budapest. There is no EU requirement for such immigration clearance for pilots and cabin crew on turnaround and this stupid procedure is not required or implemented at any of Ryanair’s 170 other EU airports.

Since Ryanair’s Budapest base opened on 17th February last, Ryanair has learnt that the Border Control Police at Budapest require Ryanair’s Budapest based crews on 25 minute turnarounds (on flights that have arrived from Ireland or the UK) to get off the aircraft with their passengers, clear through immigration, so that they can get back on the aircraft and operate their flight departures.
This idiotic procedure has caused a series of flight delays and considerable inconvenience to thousands of Ryanair passengers, both in Budapest and elsewhere.
Ryanair has written to Budapest Airport explaining that there is no legal requirement for this procedure, and that this procedure does not apply to non Schengen routes at any of Ryanair’s 170 other EU airports. Ryanair has also provided Budapest Airport with written confirmation from Border Police in other EU countries that there is no such immigration requirement.
Ryanair notified Budapest Airport that its Budapest based crews would no longer comply with this unique immigration requirement on 25 minute flight turnarounds from Ireland or the UK from 1st March 2012. Ryanair’s flight to Manchester on 1st March and our flight from Budapest to Baden Baden on 2nd March, were denied permission to depart by Budapest Airport. These flights were cancelled and the passengers are being reaccommodated.
Despite further high level contacts today with Budapest Airport and the Border Police, there has been no change in this unique and bizarre procedure at Budapest. Since Ryanair is unwilling to delay or cancel any further flights that might be affected by this arbitrary immigration procedure, Ryanair has no alternative other than to cancel these 13 return flights over the next two weeks, which results in the disruption of some 4,000 passengers.
Until such time as the Border Police in Budapest Airport comply with the same rules and regulations which apply at Ryanair’s 170 other EU airports, then these flight turnarounds after non Schengen flights will continue to be cancelled. Bizarrely flights to non Schengen destinations from Budapest which are operated by non Budapest based crews, do not have to undergo this unique immigration procedure, which serves to highlight how bizarre, unnecessary and ineffective this local Budapest regulation is.
Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary said:
“We call upon Budapest Airport and the Border Control Authorities to remove this bizarre and unique procedure at Budapest. There is clearly no immigration issue at work here, since these flights are operated by Budapest based pilots and cabin crew who clear through Budapest Airport security at the start of their day and clear through Budapest immigration and airport security at the end of their day.

StJames Management Services Ltd at Dunmow Road Bishops Sortford with Ryanair are recruiting students for cabin crew training in the UK and all over Europe..This is called RECRUITMENT for TERMINATION which no other airline in Europe operates...
What this company is doing is using the Internet to get students to join their cabin crew training courses for a fee of up to 3000 euro then passing them on to a company called Crewlink or Workforce International to work on ryanair aircraft.They ,Stjames Management Services
say, live the high life....dinner in Paris...Your new career travelling the world starts here!...How can you do this when ryanair have a 25 minute turn around of aircraft.The main reason why they St James Management Services are making students think (great life to be cabin crew) is to get money off you for the training course.Once you pass the course you are given a contract ,not by ryanair but Crewlink or Workforce International .You are given a new joiner allowance which is taken back off you once you are terminated.

1.3 - Employees will be able to end their contract with Crewlink before the 2 years are up as long as one month's written notice is given in advance and that all outstanding financial obligations have been met.
TERM OF CONTRACT
2. The term of this contract is from.. to ... the duration of Crewlink contract with Ryanair.In circumstances where Ryanair and Crewlink agree to extend their corporate arrangement this contract may be extended (subject to satisfactory assessment) however this is not GUARANTEED.

a, As Ryanair aircraft are registered in the republic of Ireland and as you will perform your duties on these aircraft your employment is based in the republic of Ireland.You will be located principally at DUB (DUBLIN)airport and at such other places as Crewlink reasonably requires for the proper fulfilment of your duties and responsibilities under this agreement.
b,It is a CONDITION of your employment that you comply with any such requirements.This would include,for the avoidance of doubt,transfer to any of the Ryanair European bases without COMPENSATION.
FLIGHT PAY....
7.1 -Earnings will be in the form of flight pay as outlined below.Flight pay will be paid one month in arrears and directly into your bank account on or about the 10th of each month.The flight pay rates will be fixed for the duration of this 2 year crewlink contract.THE FLIGHT RATES WILL BE FIXED FROM THE Ist APRIL 2008.
BLOCK HOUR----- 16.68 Euro.
Flight pay is calculated on scheduled block hour basis,and includes a premium for all hours associated with flight duty,including but not limited to pre and post flight reporting,delays and all inboard duties including the use of the handheld EPOS system.Your rate of flight pay also includes a premium for Sunday and bank holidays working.Flight pay is only paid for revenue flights.Flight pay will not be paid when you are unavailable to fly no matter what the circumstances are.An allowance for cabin crew meals is incorporated in the FLIGHT PAY.It is therefore your responsibility to provide your own sustenance while on duty.
SALES BONUS
8 - You may be entitled to receive a sales bonus award on in-flight sales in accordance with the agreement between Ryanair and Crewlink.The bonus is non contractual in status and is not intended to be incorporated into your contract of employment by reference in this agreement.The sales bonus award may be varied,amended or withdrawn at any time by Crewlink giving you at least one month's notice of such changes.Crewlink cabin crew are required to take the utmost care when dealing with bar allocations and accounting.Your sales bonus will be calculated on a flight-by-flight basis which is currently calculated as 10% of on board sales less any adjustments for any shortages in stock at selling price and any shortages in cash for any flights on which you operate as a crew member.The bonus figure shown on your monthly wage slip will be based on this above calculation.Once notice to terminate employment has been given by either you or crewlink ,you will not from this date be entitled to receive any payment on sales bonus for in-flight sales whatsoever.For the avoidance of doubt this includes any accrued but unpaid sales bonuses due at the date of termination has been given.
STAND BY DAYS ....important....
11. - Cabin crew will be required to work a number of ''stand by days''per month.whereby they must be available to work within one hour of being called,or immediately if standby duties are being carried out at the airport.If called to work remuneration will be in way of the standard sector pay rate.If you are required to complete standby duty in uniform at the airport and you are not called for a flight duty,you will be paid at the rate of 30 euro per day.There is NO PAY for home standby days if you are not called for flight duties.
TERMINATION
30. - Subject as follows the company can terminate your employment at any time.
30.2 - During the probationary period the company may terminate your employment by giving you one weeks written notice while you are on a probationary period contract for 2 years...
30.3 - You can terminate your own contract with Crewlink with one months notice.There will be an additional administration cost of 200 euro deducted from your salary should you resign within fifteen months of your contract with crewlink..
